Troon Homes for Sale

Situated in North Scottsdale adjacent to a 185-acre mountain preserve laced with multi-use trails, Troon features Troon North and Troon Village, large-scale residential developments of luxury homes, and two world-class golf courses surrounded by the beautiful Sonoran Desert. Located at 2,400 feet elevation, temperatures are cooler here than throughout much of the rest of the Phoenix metropolitan area.  The golf club is best known for its environmentally sensitive development, which conserves the Sonoran Desert while offering members the use of the land.  Nine years after opening in 1986, the golf club was purchased by the members and became a privately-owned country club.  With spectacular views of Pinnacle Peak, Troon Mountain and the Valley of the Sun, the full-service elite clubhouse includes a bar and grill, locker rooms, an award winning golf shop and banquet and conference and catering facilities for parties up to 200. These outstanding amenities along with quality service make the clubhouse an incomparable asset to both golfers and residents.

Troon North

Situated in the foothills north of Pinnacle Peak Mountain, Troon North is an 1800-acre residential master-planned community encompassing 31 subdivisions with three more under construction. The great variety of residential options ranges from condos and townhomes to custom estates as well as residential home sites.  Most of the subdivisions are gated and have mountain and/or city-light views.  The two championship golf courses were designed by legendary golfer, Tom Weiskopf, and architect, Jay Morrish. Membership in this semi-private club is available only to property owners.  Guests of the Four Seasons Resort have playing privileges here for the time being.  The four-acre Troon North community park features tennis, basketball, BBQs, ramadas, a tot lot and a turfed play area for other activities.

Troon Village

Troon Village, a 1400-acre residential master-planned community, surrounds Troon Mountain and includes 19 subdivisions.  Residential options include a wide variety of townhomes, semi-custom and custom spec homes in addition to home sites.  Troon Country Club was named for the Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland where Tom Weiskopf won the British Open in 1973.  Golf and social club memberships are offered on an application and availability basis.

Golf

Troon North Monument Course has been ranked among the top 100 golf courses in the world for more than 20 years and has been consistently recognized and awarded numerous distinctions and accolades since its opening. The PGA professionals in Arizona unfailingly rate Troon as the best golf course in Arizona. Pros and average golfers alike will enjoy the wide fairways that wind through lush desert vegetation, natural washes and towering saguaros.

Troon North Pinnacle Course features a more traditional desert layout with tighter landing areas and spectacular carries over desert washes and has also been the recipient of several awards and nominations.

Displaying a remarkably grand architecture influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, the 50,000 square foot Clubhouse underwent an extensive multi-million dollar renovation in 2003 and is continually maintained to complement its luxurious, elegant ambiance.  With attention to every detail, from the local artist’s renderings of glorious cactus flowers to the dining room china, each piece was carefully selected to create an atmosphere of luxury and elegance.

Other Recreation

As well as golf, Troon Country Club members have numerous opportunities to participate in tennis, fitness programs, tournaments, special events and social groups, including Troon Ladies and Men’s Clubs, hiking, speaker forums, bridge, mahjong, theater outings, movie and book Clubs, Troon Mountain Wine Society and more. They also have a reciprocal arrangement with Royal Troon in Scotland and, during the summer months, host reciprocal functions with local upscale private clubs. Traditional holiday and social events for members range from a Valentine’s Dinner & Dance to a New Year’s Eve Gala and celebrate every conceivable holiday in between including non-holiday events such as Kid’s Camps, wine dinners, Thursday evening theme-based buffet dinners and more.  In addition, the Club provides access to highly qualified, experienced and trusted massage therapists whose services include all kinds of massage techniques, acupuncture and herbal prescription.
